Exterior design
The exterior styling of the 60 Sloop CC was inspired by the two basic elements essential for a sail boat; water and air. Waves and wind are reflected in the streamlined shapes with their smooth and clean surfaces.
The innovative design of the cabin featuring large concave and convex surfaces interrupted by hard edges, blends perfectly with the hull, characterised by a gently falling “beltline”. This peculiar line marking a very clear surface change in the upper part of the hull creates a visual effect of lightness and emphasizes the boat’s dynamism.
On the foredeck, 3 translucent glass panels replace 3 teak boards which run from the base of the cabin’s side windows to the crew cabin hatch. This gives more light to the interior without being detrimental to the deck’s work area as the glass used would undergo an anti sliding treatment. Electroluminescent glass is used to adjust the transparency as wanted. The helm station clearly follows the same design cues as the cabin and hull so it is perfectly integrated in the overall design. The “command” seat is part of the main cockpit furniture and therefore also blends naturally into its environment. The three spoke wheel which also features subtle concave and convex surfaces is made out of carbon fibre. The centre part as well as the wheel itself has the carbon fibres visible, whereas the spokes are painted in the same colour as the boat. An aerodynamic spray hood unfolds automatically when needed. When not in use it hides in the cabin roof and only the shut lines of the rigid covers indicates its position. The cockpit is equipped with a folding table which can slide back and forth and seats 7 people comfortably. The rear part of the seating can be transformed into a sunbathing area by extracting a hidden cushion from underneath the rear bench. Further more an arch is used to avoid the main sheet disturbing the cockpit area. It also houses a folding bimini as well as lights which illuminates the table and seats. Well proportioned dynamic and elegant lines mixed with high functionality sums up the main features of the exterior design of the Sloop 60 CC.
Interior design
The main concept of the interior design is the enhancement of the visual perception of a unified, generous space. This is achieved by interaction of slightly curved forms of the furniture, spanning different spaces, having one seamless floor, extra wide sliding doors to the two cabins, space -enlarging indirect and direct illumination settings, and the use of LCD glass, which has the ability of being transparent or opaque. Sliding doors to the both cabins and wall between saloon and owner cabin are made out of this high-tech material. While being transparent, from both sides, cabin and saloon, an impression of a generous light flooded open space will be given. By turning LCD Glass to opaque, classic space distribution and privacy can be achieved.
